We as the Emiliano Zapata Indigenous and Popular Council of Guerrero [CIPOG-EZ] denounce that at this very moment, the evening of Saturday, July 20, 2019, the community of Tula, Guerrero is under armed attack by multiple armed commandos from the narco-paramilitary group “Los Ardillos.” The gunfire has continued for hours without end, and we do not yet know the number of community members hurt or killed.

We call on the local, state, and federal authorities to intervene immediately to prevent a massacre. We call on national and international human rights and solidarity organizations to demand the Mexican state intervene immediately to avoid the massacre of our Nahua indigenous brothers and sisters of the community of Tula.
